Here you can assign permissions for chosen modules, document types or custom tables to roles. All members of a role will then have these permissions.
• | Site - choose the site for which you want to perform the configuration |
• | Permissions type - choose if you want to configure permissions for a module, a document type or a custom table |
• | Permission matrix - choose the particular module, document type or custom table |
Document type permissions
Document type permissions are applied to a document of the type if no other permissions are set for this particular document in CMS Desk -> Content -> Properties -> Security. The following permissions can be set for each document type:
• | Read - members of the role are allowed to view existing documents of this type |
• | Create - members of the role are allowed to create new documents of this type |
• | Modify - members of the role are allowed to modify existing documents of this type |
• | Delete - members of the role are allowed to delete existing documents of this type |
• | Destroy - members of the role are allowed to permanently delete existing documents of this type |
• | Browse tree - members of the role are allowed to expand the node and see child documents of all documents of this type (i.e. only see the child documents listed in the content tree, not view their content) |
• | Modify permissions - members of the role are allowed to modify permissions for a particular document of this type in CMS Desk -> Content -> Properties -> Security |
These permissions are one of the three levels of document permissions. They are merged with with permissions configured for document types and for particular documents, as described in Developer's Guide -> Development -> Membership -> Permissions -> Document permissions.
Custom tables permissions
The following permissions can be set for each custom table:
• | Create - members of the role are allowed to add new records into the table |
• | Delete - members of the role are allowed to delete records from the table |
• | Modify - members of the role are allowed to modify existing records in the table |
• | Read - members of the role are allowed to read data stored in the custom table |
Module permissions
Most of the modules have the following two permissions:
• | Read - members of the role are allowed to access the module's administration interface and view the data in it |
• | Manage/Modify - members of the role are allowed to create, modify and delete data in the module's administration interface |
The following modules have different permissions than the two listed above. Click the name of the module to learn about its specific permissions:
